Octopus - schilderij

Een zeewezen met ontzettend veel kwaliteiten. Het verbaasd mij elke keer opnieuw wat ze allemaal kunnen. Hun lichaam door de kleinste openingen forceren en hun huid binnen seconden om te formen tot de kleur én textuur van een verstopplek in het koraal. En dan die acht tentakels, superleuk om een compositie mee te maken. Ik was helemaal in mijn nopjes tijdens het schilderen van dit beeld. 

Dit beeld is onderdeel van de set vissenkaarten die ik maakte voor uitgeverij Loopvis. Deze kaarten zijn ook in de webshop te vinden. Een set met vissen die ik echt bijzonder vind, daar mag de octopus niet aan ontbreken.

Original piece

The octopus is a seacreature that amazes me time after time with their amazing skills and qualities. For instance when they force their wohole body through the smallest spaces or change the texture and colour of their skin to hide in plane sight. And then those 8 tentacles, perfect for playing with the overall composition. I truly had a lot of fun making this piece. 

I made this illustration  for the series of fish cards I made for Loopvis. These cards are also available in my webshop. It's a series of fish I find fascinating and would love to share. Of course the octopus had to be in there.
